This is might be a common story but it's complicated to be finished. This is about me and my girlfriend. We were introduced for the first time at the internet store next to my office with my friend which is actually her husband. For the first time I don't have any feeling to her, but I amazed her, because she is beautiful. Just in the last one year I close to her and she often told me about her problem with her husband till she decided to divorce and want to marry another man and she want to change her religion, but I advice her for not to to that, what your son will be later on, you must think about your son, not just your self. A few months later she told me the her relationship is over because her boyfriend didn't want to divorce her wife, and she little bit frustrated, so she often send email to her boyfriend's wife actually he didn't want to be with you again, "being with you is just a compulsion for him" that's her word and she send it by using different email address. And I already falling in love to her and told that I love her, so we begin our story as the java people say "Witing tresno jalaran saka kulino" and we do our relation ship is just normal, we never do kisses but we just only holding hands. actually I ever think will this relationsip end to marry or not, because I'm and her husband are from the same tribe, and it's difficult for me, my parents also will against our relationship. A few months ago she quarreled with her husband,and want to divorce, but she just leave her husband and she stay at her parents house because her husband suspecting her that she should be go to her parents house and accompanying her son not use her off day with reason go with her boss around of the showroom and at that time she just using jeans and T-shirt only while at the first time she accepted in that company she feel afraid about the rules and she must wearing white shirt and black pants, so that's why her husband is angry to her. I also take her to her parents house at that time. I often picking up her from her office till her house, till her son is remember and always waiting for my coming to her house. for this few weeks I pick up her but just only until a mall where she make a pact with her brother to meet and to go home together, she told his brother is attend an exhibition in nearby so we can go home together. It's happening for a few weeks, I just believe like that, but inside of my hearth I feel suspicious to her that she didn't meet her brother maybe she meet her ex-boyfriend. I just quiet not talking about anything. When I told her that I want to go to your house to meet your son because I miss him, then she told me if her son is go to BDO with her parents to attend a family wedding party and they will be a weeks in there, at that time was on wednesday, she told me that her son is go on tuesday, at that time when I was finished selling my phone to a person in a place near by her house, I pass her house and I see her father, and also her brother's car and another car inside the garage. she told me thet they go to BDO by using shuttle and will be pick up by a family in there. I talk to my self why she lies on me, there must be something she wanted to hide from me. She told me that her son is go to many places, well may be I am a fool person that believe like that to a women, that her husband also not believing her. A few months ago she told me that she was do CT scan to hospital and told me that she got brain cancer stadium 2. And for further action doctors recommend for immediate suctioning of fluid in her brain, well 2 weeks ago I was lend her money 10 millon rupiah to help her do her suction fluid and the money which is need the amount is about 20 million rupiah, the another 10 million she said that she borrowed from a loan shark. and the last 25th august she do the surgery, she told me on the next day in the morning. Right now we are not getting along each other, because of some sms that I send to her that she leave me and forget me just like that after she got what she wanted, and she told me that "she is not a nut who forgot the skin" and the "suction fluid also didn't make her better", why I do that because I feel that her attention to me is less and when she do the surgery she didn't told me, she said that she will told me before she receive the money, and when I ask why you didn't told me, she said that "suddenly and no time anymore and there is assistance on Tuesday so I'll have to do it", she fell afraid about her job right now, so she must following what the company said. and in the next day she must working in the morning and in the afternoon she must go to customer's house to offering the furniture product. when I check her email just now, I read that she still do conversation with her ex-boyfriend she said that "I'm confused". the time is at august 25th at 12.25 pm, while if she want to do that she must do it from morning because she must do CT scan first than surgery that will take long time all the day, and she must rest also at the hospital. So at this time I strengthen my heart to establish her as a woman liars. I don't know what she did with my money, well I can only make all of this as a lesson, and pray to God I hope she can change andnot being a liars again. Later on I will ask her about her medical letter if I meet her again, if she not angry to me again, then I'll ask the original not the copied.

Sunda Kelapa Harbour

Sunda Kelapa is the old port of Jakarta located on the estuarine of Ciliwung River. "Sunda Kalapa" (Sundanese: "Coconut of Sunda") is the original name, and it was the main port of Sunda Kingdom of Pajajaran. The port is situated in Penjaringan sub-district, of North Jakarta, Indonesia. Today the old port only accommodate pinisi, a traditional two masted wooden sailing ship serving inter-island freight service in the archipelago. Although it is now only a minor port, Jakarta had its origins in Sunda Kelapa and it played a significant role in the city's development.

History

According to the Chinese source, Chu-fan-chi, written circa 1200, Chou Ju-kua identified the two most powerful and richest kingdoms in the Indonesian archipelago asSrivijaya and Java (Kediri). According to this source, in the early 13th Century, Srivijaya still ruled Sumatra, the Malay peninsula, and western Java (Sunda). The source identifies the port as strategic and thriving, pepper from Sunda being among the best in quality. The people worked in agriculture and their houses were built on wooden piles (rumah panggung). However, robbers and thieves plagued the country.^[1]

From 13th to 16th century Sunda kelapa was the main port of Sunda Kingdom. The port served the capital, Pakuan Pajajaran, located about 60 km inland south, along Ciliwung river hinterland, now the site of modern Bogor. The port thrive on international spice trade especially pepper, the main spice produce of Sunda kingdom. Sunda Kelapa, together with Aceh and Makassar, were one of the few Indonesian ports that maintained ties with Europe.

In 1522, the Portuguese secured a politics and economic agreement with Sunda Kingdom, the authority of the port. In exchange for military assistance against the threat of rising Islamic Javan Sultanate of Demak, Prabu Surawisesa, king of Sunda at that time, granted them free access to the pepper trade. Portuguese who were in the service of the sovereign, made their homes in Sunda Kelapa.

However in 1527, Fatahillah, on behalf of Demak attacked Portuguese in Sunda Kelapa and succeeded in conquering the harbour on June 22, 1527, after which Sunda Kelapa was renamed Jayakarta.^[2] Later the port become the part of Banten Sultanate.

In 1619, Jan Pieterszoon Coen, an official working for the Dutch East India Company, seized the port of Jayakarta from the Sultanate of Banten and razed the city. From the ashes of Jayakarta, the Dutch build a new city, Batavia. The old port served as the main port of Batavia until late 19th century, when Netherlands East Indiesgovernment decided to built a new Tanjung Priok port to accommodate the increasing traffic as the result from the opening of the Suez Canal.^[3] The new port located 9 kilometers east from the old port. After the independence of Republic of Indonesia, the Batavia old port is renamed back to its original name, Sunda Kelapa, as a tribute to the long history of the port as the cradle of Jakarta.

Tangkuban Perahu Volcano

Tangkuban perahu is a volcano, 25 kilometers north of Bandung direction of Lembang. Its location is in between Sagalaherang village, Sagalaherang district, Subang regency and Cikole village, Lembang district, Bandung regency. This is Bandung's most famous tourist volcano just 28 km north of the city. This volcano offers many places to see and explore. Whether we look into the huge crater or hike down into it, stroll through the forest on its slopes, or simply enjoy the splendid panoramic scenery. Mt. Tangkuban Perahu is an interesting destination that everyone in the Bandung area is fond of visiting. When seen from Bandung, Mt. Tangkuban Perahu has a distinctive shape, like an upside down boat. Tangkuban Perahu means, in fact, "up-turned boat" This peculiar shape has stimulated the fantasy of the Sundanese people from early times as expressed in the Legend of Sangkuriang. Geologically, Mt. Tangkuban Perahu has played a significant role in the development of Parahyangan highlands. Eruptions have contributed immensely to the hills north of Bandung through lava flowing into the valleys and hardening into rock, thus forming big cliffs over which waterfalls leap. Likewise, mud flows have formed a semi-circular cone of gentle gradient (what geologists call "a fan"), which is now a mass that blocked the valley of the ancient Citarum River near present day in Padalarang (some 18 km west of Bandung), this caused a lake to form covering the whole Bandung plain.

Inscriptions Museum occupies a culture preserve building, an inheritance building from the colonial time. It was formerly a funeral park of Dutch and European people which than restored and modified to be Inscription Museum with the collections located at the open air area. The collections are located at a 1.2 hectares area, and for it Inscription Museum is also called as Inscription Park. Inscription Museum exhibits selected gravestone inscriptions from the historical relic and work of arts from the past that combined the work of sculptor, carver, calligrapher, and man of letters.

History

As mentioned above, the current Inscription Park located at an ex funeral. The name of the funeral is Kebon Jahe Kober, a funeral area for officers and prominent figures, especially for Dutch and European. The funeral started to be utilized in 1795 and the main building of funeral constructed in 1844 with Doria style. Behind the main building there’s a building called Balairung Building, functioned as ritual ceremonial hall before the burial carried out. Balairung Building consists of two halls, one at the right side and the other one at the left side. The right side the building used as a place to lie down female bodies, while the left side building used as a place to lie down male bodies.

After the freedom of Indonesia,the funeral was still used as a public funeral, especially for Christian people. In 1975, Kebon Jahe Kober funeral was closed. DKI Jakarta government considered that the ex Kebon Jahe Kober funeral has a potency to be developed as a museum. Therefore the government conducted a restoration and redesigning of selected gravestone inscriptions at the funeral area. In 1977, Inscription Museum which also known as Inscription Park was officially announced by Ali Sadikin, DKI Jakarta governor at that time.

Collections

The collection of Inscription Museum consists of inscriptions in the form of ancient gravestone, monument or pillar, goblet, statue, antique corpse carriage, bouquet, flat sided stone, replica and miniature of typical funeral from 27 provinces in Indonesia. At the back yard of Balairung Building there’re collections of bronze medal bells which previously used to give a sign that there’s somebody died. The bell was rang continuously to welcome the corpse while giving a sign for the funeral staffs to be prepared for the burial ritual. Inscription collections in the Inscription Museum are selected inscriptions from the work of talented carver and designer, used as a realization of the family and relatives feeling. When you see the inscriptions, as if they can talk through the deep meaning of the script on them. On one of the gravestone inscription at the Inscription Museum, there's a script written in Dutch saying “SOO GY. NU SYT. WAS. IK VOOR DEESEN DAT. JK, NV BEN SVLT GY OOK WEESEN”, which means “Like you are now, I was before. And like I’m now, thus you will be one day”.

Most of the gravestone inscriptions were from many prominent figures from many fields such military, education, art, science, religion and many others. Some of them were General Major J.H.R Kohler, Dr. W.R. Stutterheim, Dr. H.F Roll, Pieter Erberveld, Olivia Mariamne Raffles, Miss Riboet and Soe Hok Gie. There’re a total of 1700 collections at Inscription Museum.

Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, which was built in 1870 was originally the Dutch judicial office or Read Van Justitie. During the Japanese occupation of this building used as a military dormitory. In 1976 this building became the office of Art Center and later changed the name so the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics.

In the year 2007, this museum has over 400 works of art in the form of sculptures, graphics, wood totems, sketches, and painting batik. Of all the collection, a collection of some excellent and very important for art history inIndonesia, such as painting, titled “Bride of Cianjur” Hendra Gunawan, painting “Regent of Cianjur” Raden Saleh’s work, the painting “Mother Breastfeeding” by Abdullah, the painting ” Laskar Tritura “S Sudjojono work and painting” self portrait “by Affandi.

While the collections cover local and foreign ceramics. Local pottery, among others comes from Aceh, Medan, Palembang, Lampung, Jakarta, Bandung, Purwakarta, Yogyakarta, Malang, Bali, Lombok. There’s also pottery from Majapahit era. Foreign ceramic collections, among others come from China, Vietnam, Thailand, Netherlands, Germany, the Middle East.

Museum Sejarah Jakarta

Museum Fatahillah yang juga dikenal sebagai Museum Sejarah Jakarta atau Museum Batavia adalah sebuah museum yang terletak di Jalan Taman Fatahillah No. 2, Jakarta Barat dengan luas lebih dari 1.300 meter persegi.

Gedung ini dulu adalah Stadhuis atau Balai Kota, yang dibangun pada tahun 1707-1710 atas perintah Gubernur Jenderal Johan Van Hoorn. Bangunan balaikota itu serupa dengan Istana Dam di Amsterdam, terdiri atas bangunan utama dengan dua sayap di bagian timur dan barat serta bangunan sanding yang digunakan sebagai kantor, ruang pengadilan, dan ruang-ruang bawah tanah yang dipakai sebagai penjara.

Pada tanggal 30 Maret 1974, gedung ini kemudian diresmikan sebagai Museum Fatahillah.

Museum ini memiliki luas lebih dari 13.000 meter persegi. Pekarangan dengan susunan konblok, dan sebuah kolam dihiasi beberapa pohon tua.

Objek-objek yang dapat ditemui di museum ini antara lain perjalanan sejarah Jakarta, replika peninggalan masa Tarumanegara dan Pajajaran, hasil penggalian arkeologi di Jakarta, mebelantik mulai dari abad ke-17 sampai 19, yang merupakan perpaduan dari gaya Eropa,Republik Rakyat Cina, dan Indonesia. Juga ada keramik, gerabah, dan batu prasasti. Koleksi-koleksi ini terdapat di berbagai ruang, seperti Ruang Prasejarah Jakarta, Ruang Tarumanegara, Ruang Jayakarta, Ruang Fatahillah, Ruang Sultan Agung, dan Ruang MH Thamrin.

Terdapat juga berbagai koleksi tentang kebudayaan Betawi, numismatik, dan becak. Bahkan kini juga diletakkan patung Dewa Hermes (menurut mitologi Yunani, merupakan dewa keberuntungan dan perlindungan bagi kaum pedagang) yang tadinya terletak di perempatanHarmoni dan meriam Si Jagur yang dianggap mempunyai kekuatan magis. Selain itu, di Museum Fatahillah juga terdapat bekas penjara bawah tanah yang dulu sempat digunakan pada zaman penjajahan Belanda

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) merupakan suatu kawasan wisata budaya di Jakarta. Terletak pada koordinat 6°18′6.8″LS,106°53′47.2″BT, di tengah-tengah TMII terdapat sebuah danau yang menggambarkan kepulauan Indonesia yang besar dalam bentuknya yang kecil .

Sejarah

Gagasan pembangunan suatu miniatur yang memuat kelengkapan Indonesia dengan segala isinya ini dicetuskan oleh Ibu Negara, Siti Hartinah, yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Ibu Tien Soeharto. Gagasan ini tercetus pada suatu pertemuan di Jalan Cendana no. 8 Jakarta pada tanggal 13 Maret 1970. Melalui miniatur ini diharapkan dapat membangkitkan rasa bangga dan rasa cinta tanah air pada seluruh bangsa Indonesia. Maka dimulailah suatu proyek yang disebut Proyek Miniatur Indonesia "Indonesia Indah", yang dilaksanakan oleh Yayasan Harapan Kita.

TMII mulai dibangun tahun 1972 dan diresmikan pada tanggal 20 April 1975. Berbagai aspek kekayaan alam dan budaya Indonesia sampai pemanfaatan teknologi modern diperagakan di areal seluas 150 hektar.

TMII memiliki logo yang pada intinya terdiri atas dua huruf I dan I. Kedua huruf ini mewakili nama "Indonesia Indah" sedangkan maskotnya berupa tokoh wayang Hanoman yang dinamakan NITRA (Anjani Putra). Maskot Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah" ini diresmikan penggunaannya oleh Ibu Tien Soeharto, bertepatan dengan dwi windu usia TMII, pada tahun 1991.

Ancol Jakarta Bay City

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol merupakan sebuah objek wisata di Jakarta Utara. Pada 2006, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol berubah nama menjadi Ancol Jakarta Bay City.

Sejarah

Sebagai kawasan wisata, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol ternyata sudah berdiri sejak abad ke-17. Waktu itu, Gubernur Jenderal Hindia Belanda,Adriaan Valckenier, memiliki rumah peristirahatan sangat indah di tepi pantai. Seiring perjalanan waktu, kawasan itu kemudian berkembang menjadi tempat wisata.

Sayangnya, ketika Perang Dunia II meletus disusul perang kemerdekaan, Ancol terlupakan. Sungai Ciliwung secara leluasa menumpahkan air dan lumpurnya ke sana sehingga mengubah kawasan tersebut menjadi kotor, kumuh, dan berlumpur. Kawasan yang semula cantik, berubah menjadi menyeramkan bagaikan 'tempat jin buang anak'.

Lalu, muncul usulan agar kawasan itu difungsikan menjadi daerah industri. Namun, usul itu ditolak mentah-mentah oleh Presiden Soekarno. Malah, Bung Karno ingin membangun kawasan itu sebagai daerah wisata. Lewat Keputusan Presiden pada akhir Desember 1965, Bung Karno memerintahkan kepada Gubernur DKI Jaya waktu itu, dr. Soemarno, sebagai pelaksana pembangunan proyek Taman Impian Jaya Ancol. Proyek pembangunan ini baru terlaksana di bawah pimpinan Ali Sadikin yang ketika itu menjadi Gubernur Jakarta. Pembangunan Ancol dilaksanakan oleh PD Pembangunan Jaya di bawah pimpinan Ir. Ciputra.

Pembangunan

Kekhasan Taman Impian Jaya Ancol di awal-awal berdirinya ditandai dengan dibangunnya Teater Mobil pada tahun 1970. Sarana rekreasi berikut yang dibangun makin mempopulerkan keberadaan Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, tidak saja di kalangan masyarakat ibu kota, tetapi juga seluruh Indonesia.

Pembangunan berbagai proyek terus berlanjut hingga kini. Pedagang kaki lima ditata, hotel dibangun, lapangan golf, dan beragam permainan dihadirkan. Hal itu berarti sarana rekreasi dan hiburan di Taman Impian Jaya Ancol akan semakin lengkap. Pada tahun-tahun berikutnya, pengadaan sarana rekreasi dan hiburan diarahkan pada sarana hiburan berteknologi tinggi. Hal itu telah dimulai dengan dibangunnya kawasan Taman Impian "Dunia Fantasi" tahap I pada tahun 1985.

Kini, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol yang berdiri pada lahan seluas 552 hektar, telah menjadi tempat wisata dan rekreasi permainan terbesar dan terlengkap di Indonesia.

This is Jakarta's largest and most popular recreation park. Used to be known as "Jaya Ancol Dreamland", its extensive range of attractions includes sea and fresh water aquariums, swimming pools, an artificial lagoon for fishing and boating, a bowling alley, as well as an assortment of nightclubs restaurants, and massage parlors.

At this art and handicraft market, visitors get to watch Indonesian artists creating their masterpieces. Hundreds of artists from all over the country congregate here to exhibit their work, making the spot a fascinating place for tourists and art connoisseurs. You can even get a portrait of yourself done.
Both traditional and modern art and crafts are on display, including paintings, sculptures, traditional Indonesian wayang kulit (leather puppets), gemstone jewelry and many other artistic products. Art performances are frequently held at the Art Market (Pasar Seni) inside the Jaya Ancol Dreamland on Jakarta's beach. They normally range from wayang kulit shadow plays to folk dances and modern drama.

Amusement Park
A village unto itself, this 24-hour park has hotels, nightclubs, shops, and amusement centers, including an oceanarium with dolphin and sea lion shows, a golf course, a race-car track, a four-pool complex with a wave pool, and water slides. Africa is represented by a comedy of mechanized monkeys, America by a Wild West town, Europe by a mock Tudor house, and Asia by buildings from Thailand, Japan, India, and Korea. Marina Ancol
This is a special port for yachts, motor and sail boats, and the port of departure to Kepulauan Seribu or Thousand Islands resorts. This is also a good location for windsurfing and other marine recreation. Beach facilities for the sea or lagoon area are amply provided: water cycles, canoes, sail boats, fishing gear and many others. Stalls are abundant, serving drinks and snacks along the beach.

Seaworld
This giant oceanarium proudly introduces visitors to more than 4,000 fish and sharks from 300 species. Come and enjoy the deep-sea panorama while strolling through an 80-meter tunnel. The fascinating creatures live in some 500 million liters of seawater and are fed three times a day (some hand-fed). The attraction also features a theater which plays three educational films in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Open Monday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ancol Golf
Built as part of the giant recreational area in Ancol Dreamland in North Jakarta, the 18-hole plays to par 17 with a length of 6,501 meters. Here, the sea wind is often an interesting challenge for golfers. Padang Golf Jaya Ancol has no membership restrictions and is suitable for those wishing to combine golf with a family outing. Facilities at the clubhouse include club rental, pro shop, driving range, locker rooms, hot / cold showers and a spacious parking lot.

Ancol Bay can be reached by using buses, motorcycle, taxi, or rent a car. If you're coming from Bogor, there's a train available, but it's only on Sunday.

An extensive park to get a glimpse of the diverseness of the Indonesian archipelago, it represents Indonesia's provinces and their outstanding characteristics, reflected most strikingly in the exact regional architecture of the province. Aceh Pavilion

The fully engraved Aceh traditional construction is the original house of Cut Mutiah, an Aceh national hero who opposed colonialism. North Sumatera Pavilion

Four traditional houses are presented here. The Batak Toba house is the large and engraved house in red, white and black. The Batak Karo house is unique of its triangular roof. The Nias houses is in form of a ship, because Nias houses are originally found along the shore or river. there is also the Simalungun traditional house.

Riau Pavilion

Riau Pavilion presents three unique traditional houses each with its own typical design. Lipat Kijang house has a flat roof, Lontik house is in form of a ship and the magnificent. The exhibited elephant statute and Oil drill portray the wealth of the province.

West Sumatra Pavilion

The West Sumatera Pavilion is a complex of traditional houses, namely RUMAH GADANG, Balairung and Surau, each functions as the main house, meeting hall and place for Minang youths to pray. The large house which stands above pillars with palm fiber roof looks even typical with the buffalo horn like roof. The house it self is painted with vivid colors.

Jambi Pavilion

Jambi was the center of Melayu culture, as reflected in the form of the traditional houses which is named Rumah Betiang. The typical Melayu house stands above pillars and consists of eight parts. The part below the house was originally for animal breeding. The characteristic of Jambi pavilion is the large swan -like ship, Kajang Lako, which in the past was the vehicle of Jambi kings.

Bengkulu Pavilion

The pepper producing province presents four traditional houses as the main buildings. One is a model of the house of the nobility and the others are that of the common people. The three houses are built above pillars. It is in this province where the rare Rafflesia giant is found.

South Sumatra Pavilion

There are three traditional architectural styles presented in the pavilion of south Sumatra. Limas, Ulu and Rakit houses. Limas is the house which floor has many levels as to reflect the nobility rank of the dwellers. Ulu is a model of the houses of South Sumatran common people who live in the mainland. Rakit house, which can be broken down and rebuilt, is the dwelling place of those who live along the river.

Lampung Pavilion

The Lampung Pavilion presents two traditional houses, Nowou Balak a chief villages house, and Nowo Sesat - a meeting hall. Exhibited in the Nowou Balak is Pepadun which is the seat of the chief village. Above the roof of the Nowou sesat terrace are the grandeur umbrellas in color of white, yellow and red, and on the pillars are two symbol of Garuda, which use have been long known in this area.

Jakarta Pavilion

Jakarta, being the capital of Indonesia, is a metropolitan city with has the most rapid rate of the development in Indonesia. Foreigners and ethnic groups live in the city so the sense of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (unity in Diversity) is clearly reflected. The main building of the DKI Jakarta pavilion is the base of the National Monument, the symbol of Jakarta. The two level building exhibited the living way of life the Betawi people in the past and present.

West Java Pavilion

The province of West Java presents a replica of Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon, which in original was the palace of Sunan Gunung Jati, one of the nine Islam spreaders in Java. The beauty and richness of the West Javanese culture are clearly reflected in the pavilion, including the artistic and pleasant traditional resting house that is made of bamboo

Central Java Pavilion

The Pavilion of Central Java appears with a replica of the Pendopo Agung of the Mangkunegaran Surakarta palace as the main building. The building with the wide and magnificent roof, besides functioning as a reception hall can be used the perform a variety of the graceful Javanese dances. Other types of the traditional house presented are Tajuk Mangkurat, Joglo Pangrawit and Dorogepak, as well as three miniature of different temple surrounding them

Bali Pavilion

The province of Bali is represented with Puri - dwelling complex of Balinese Nobles, with Candi Bentar (temple) as the main gate. In the Front part is a hall for arts performance. There are part is the secret Padmasari- place of the king. The complex was built on the bases of Hastakosala-kosali, meaning harmony.

West Kalimantan Pavilion

Two traditional houses are built in this pavilion. The first is a replica of Istana Kadariyah made of yellow colored woods which makes it look magnificent. The real palace was built in 1771 in Pontianak. The second building is a Dayak traditional house called rumah Betang or rumah panjang which customarily is dwelled by tens of families. Meanwhile, there is only one entrance for one to get into house.

South Kalimantan Pavilion

The province is represented by a traditional house of the Banjar ethnic group called Rumah Lampung Mangkurat or Rumah Bubungan tinggi. The construction is built lengthwise and frontward and stands above pillars. The floor is of several levels in odd number. Although Islamic influences are strongly reflected in this region, Chinese influences can also be seen.

Central Kalimantan Pavilion

Presented in the pavilion are two traditional constructions, Betang and meeting hall, which are built above pillars. Betang is the traditional house of the Dayak ethnic group and is generally dwelled by tens of families. In front of the house is a cone shaped structure, Sandung, which originally function to keep the skeleton of the deceased.

East Kalimantan Pavilion

Most of the inhabitants of cast Kalimantan is the Dayak ethnic group, therefore the pavilion presents Rumah Lamin, a traditional house of Dayak people in general. The house is built above pillars and usually is dwelled by tens of families. It is constructed lengthwise and some than 100 meters long. The black painted house look so artistic with the typical bright colored east Kalimantan ornaments.

North Sulawesi Pavilion
Even though North Sulawesi has four ethnic groups. The province is represented by two traditional houses of Walewangko and Bolaang Mongondow. Entering the pavilion is a tall statue of person standing above one another. at another spot is the figure of the Cakalele war dance.

Central Sulawesi Pavilion

The main building of the pavilion is SAURAJA, house of the kaili nobilities who live along the coast. The unique building is named Tambi for sides of the roof are in form of a trapezium while the other two are in form of a triangle. The whole roof is pyramidal with a slope of 45 degrees. The house is supported by logs, which are arranged over one another, and the strength depends on the notches.

South Sulawesi Pavilion

The pavilion of South Sulawesi is easily recognized by the unique and typical form of the traditional house form Toraja. The house has its roof curving downward forming into a shape of the Wangka canoe. The wall is filled with paintings of geometric motifs. Other building presented are of the Buggis ethnic group, which house the various cultural aspects of the region

South East Sulawesi Pavilion

The pavilion present a replica of the Sultan Bone's palace. The 4 floors building is called malige and is built mainly of wood, without any nails nor pegs. It is supported by 40 poles strong and firm.

West Nusa Tenggara Pavilion

The province consist of two islands, Lombok and Sumbawa. The main building presented in the pavilion is a replica of the Sultan Sumbawa palace which has two floors with twin roof. The uniqueness of the building is the low ceiling entrance, so people entering the house must bow as a show of politeness.

East Nusa Tenggara Pavilion

The province chooses a common house of the region to be presented as the pavilion. Originally, the house stands above pillars with its roof made of thatched-grass. Here, the house exhibits a variety of Ikat weaving from Sumba which has unique and typical motifs. A statue of a Komodo - a rare species in form of a giant lizard, decorates the front yard.

Maluku Pavilion

Maluku is also known as the region of a tourism islands. Despite of the geographical situation, all of its aspect are united in a kredo of unity called Siwalima. It is why the pavilion present a Baileo, a traditional meeting place that has nine pillars in front and five on the sides. The stage in the house is a dancing and singing place of the Maluku young people.

Irian Jaya Pavilion
The Cendrawasih (a rare species of bird found in Irian Jaya) province present, two architectural styles. The first is the black and tall house that is fully covered with thatched - grass. The building is called Kariwari, which in originally functions as a place for veneration. The other building is a model of the Dani ethnic group, houses in form of a toadstool called Honai. Various traditional statues that are exposed in the pavilion bring and astonishment.

JAKARTA HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Jakarta History Museum Located in the historic Old Jakarta Kota area, Taman Fatahillah square offers three of the city's most interesting museums. Once the heart of the colonial administration in the 18th century the square underwent a major restoration in the 1970's. A fountain in the middle of square once as the main water supply for the former colonial capital. The Portuguese cannon on the north side of the square is reportedly an impressive font of fertility. Jakarta History Museum is the one displaying the history of the development of the City of Jakarta, both the events and the community, from the prehistory until these present days. This museum is located in a building of cultural property which in the past known as Stadhuis, the City Hall of Batavia. As written on an inscription of the Museum collection, the building was constructed in 1707 by the city government of Batavia during the period of VOC and Governor General Abraham van Riebeeck inaugurated it in 1710. This building is located in front of a park, which in the past was known as Stadhuisplein, the City Hall Park, and now it is called Taman Fatahillah.
Since 1970, the surroundings of Taman Fatahillah have been declared as Cultural Property and it was totally preserved. This effort was the beginning of the development of the historical area of the City of Jakarta, carried out by the Government of DKI Jakarta. The Museum of History of Jakarta was inaugurated on 30 March 1974 for being the center for collection, conservation and research for all kinds of objects of cultural property related to the history of the City of Jakarta and at the same time becomes a center for education, study and recreation for the community. Due the very long course of the history of Jakarta, the collection of this Museum are highly varied in shape and consist of objects being the heritage of the prehistorical period until the beginning of the 20th century.
There are another replicas of the Tugu Inscription from the age of Great King Purnawarman, forming evidence that the center of the Kingdom of Tarumanegara was located in around the seaport of Tanjung Priok. Further, a map of the 16th century and the replica of the Padrao monument of the Portuguese represent the historical evidence of the age of Sunda Kelapa Harbor. The period of Jayakarta is the beginning of the establishment of the City bronze cannon and through various drawings and maps of the 17th century. Furniture collection of Betawi style from the 17th, 18th and 19th century is the richest collection and belongs to the most complete one in the world. This collection is very interesting since the association reflects of the community of Batavia City with various cultural elements from Europe, especially Dutch, China, India and Indonesia.

This artistic building at Jalan Pintu Besar Utara no 27, West Jakarta, was built in 1912, previously as land of a church which was built in 1640 under the name of De Oude Hollandsche Kerk (The Old Dutch Churh). In 1732 it was renovated and its name was changed into De Nieuwe Hollandsche Kerk (The New Dutch Church). The church building was once totally destroyed by an earthquake. Bataviasche Genootschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen (Batavia Society of Arts and Sciences), that was an institution dealing with science and Indonesian culture bought this building.

This building was then delivered by this institution to the Stichting Oud Batavia (Old Batavia Foundation) and on 22 December 1939. It was made a museum under the name of Oude Bataviasche Museum (Old Batavia Museum). In 1957 this building was delivered to Lembaga Kebudayaan Indonesia (Institute of Indonesian Culture) and on 17 September 1962 it was delivered to the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, which later was delivered to the DKI Jakarta Administration on 23 June 1968 to be made Shadow Puppet Museum, which inauguration was carried out on 13 August 1975.

Shadow Puppet (commonly known as wayang) in Indonesia, especially on Java Island, was originally a product of the Royal Court culture. It was first used as an instrument of worship to the ancestors, and after the Hindu culture entered Indonesia in around the 5th century, it developed shifting of values.

The world of Indonesian shadow puppet got characteristically influence especially in term of story, like the Ramayana (the Story of Rama) and Mahabharata (the Great Bharata), making the form of presentation keep on changing and with wider range in performance and in the theme of the story. In its later development the Indonesian shadow puppet had become a such tradition, that it has been capable to hold out in the supporting community consisting of various elements. Visitors of this Museum are invited to know various characters, attitude and behaviour of the story from various regions through the performance of shadow puppet that has weight of high value in our culture and viewing a number of collections of shadow puppet like wayang kulit, wayang golek, patung wayang, topeng wayang, wayang beber, wayang kaca, gamelan (traditional music instrument set) as well as wayang paintings.

This Museum also displays various collections of wayang and dolls from friendly countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Suriname, China, Vietnam, France, India and Cambodia. It is not merely to be an object for recreation, study for students/ devotee can be carried out in this Museum, and this Museum even can be used as venue for training, documentation center and research on shadow puppet, and it can be used as inter-regional and international media on cultural knowledge. To support its existence, in this Museum wayang staging and attraction of wayang making are periodically organized.

Jakarta Old Town (Kota Tua Jakarta), also known as Old Jakarta, and Old Batavia (Oud Batavia), is a small area in Jakarta, Indonesia. This special region spans 1.3 square kilometres of both North Jakarta and West Jakarta.

Dubbed "The Jewel of Asia" and "Queen of the East" in the 16th century by European sailors, Old Jakarta — or Batavia, as it was named by the Dutch — was once considered a center of commerce for the whole continent due to its strategic location and fertile resources.
History
In 1526, Fatahillah sent by Sultanate of Demak, invade Hindu Pajajaran's port of Sunda Kelapa, then he change the name of the port to Jayakarta. This town is only 15 hectare in size and rendered in traditional Javanese coastal city. In 1619 VOC destroyed Jayakarta under the command of Jan Pieterzoon Coen. A year later VOC build a new town named "Batavia" to honor Batavieren, the Dutch ancestors. This city centered around east bank of Ciliwung river, around present day Fatahillah Square.
The inhabitant of Batavia are called "Batavianen", later known as "Betawi" people, the creole ethnic, the descendants of mixed various ethnicities that has inhabited Batavia.
In 1635 the city expanded towards west banks of Ciliwung, on the ruins of former Jayakarta. The city was designed in European Dutch style completed with fortress (Casteel Batavia), city wall, and canals. The city was arranged in several blocks separated with canals [1]. The city of Batavia was completed in 1650. It become the center of VOC in East Indies. The canals was disbanded due to outbreak of tropical diseases within the city wall because of sanitation and hygiene problems. The city began to expand further south as epidemics in 1835 and 1870 encouraged more people to move far south of the port, to Weltevreden area (now the area surrounding Merdeka Square). The city later become the administrative center of colonial Dutch East Indies. In 1942 during the Japanese occupation, the name of the city changes to Jakarta, and now serves as the capital city of Indonesia.
In 1972, the Governor of Jakarta Ali Sadikin issued a decree that officially made the Jakarta Kota area into a heritage site. The governor's decision was necessary in order to preserve the city's architectural roots — or at least what was left of it.
Despite the Governor's Decree, the vicinity remains neglected, as though the majority was pleased just by the issuing of the decree. Not enough was being done to protect and conserve the legacy from the Dutch colonial era.[2]

Now, many remaining historical buildings and architecture are steadily deteriorating; at best, "dilapidated".[4] such as; Museum History of Jakarta (ex-Dutch Indies general governoor palace), Museum Bahari, Sunda Kelapa harbour, and Omni Batavia hotel.
However, there is still much hope in restoring the area, especially with various non-profit organizations, private institutions, and even the government[5] recently stepping up to the plate to rejuvenate Old Jakarta's legacy. Since late 2007, the government closed Pinangsia street and replace it as pedestrian.

National Monument

The Monumen Nasional (or Tugu Monas, the National Monument tower) is a 450 ft (137 m) tall tower in Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia's independence. Construction began in 1961 under Sukarno and was not finished until 1975 under Suharto. It is topped by a 14.5 ton bronze flame, which is plated in 35 kg (1,125 troy ounces) of gold.

This golden flame is intended to symbolize the spirit of freedom and the struggle for independence of Indonesian people.[citation needed]
of steel and concrete covered with Italian white marble. On the top of the tower, there's a square terrace that can be reach by visitors by elevator. From here, visitors can see an aerial view of Jakarta. The monument is crowned by gold-coated flame, right on the top of the peak terrace.
The entrance to the monument is located at the north part of Medan Merdeka Park, near the Prince Diponegoro statue. From the entrance and underground ticket box, the visitor gets through a tunnel under stone-pavement around the monument to the central part of the park. On inner part of walls surround the monument in central part of the park, there is a series of statues and reliefs depicted the history on Indonesia that span from ancient empire of Majapahit to the history of modern Indonesia. Visitors can take an elevator up to upper platform beneath the golden flame with a view of Medan Merdeka Park, Istiqlal Mosque, and the city. At the middle part is the Cawan (Indonesian: cup) with viewing middle platform on top of it. The Cawan is a reverted pyramid structure that engulfed the base of towering obelisk shaft. Inside the Cawan there is Ruang Tenang (solemn hall) or Ruang Agung (grand hall) with black marble square walls at the center of it. The four sides of central black marble wall displaying a carved golden gate that houses the text of Indonesian Proclamation of Independence in 1945, Garuda Pancasila (Coat of Arms of Indonesia), the map of Indonesian archipelago, The flag of Indonesia, and the flags of Indonesian provinces. The golden gate is opened several times in a day displaying the text of Indonesian declaration of independence and playing the record of Soekarno's voice reading the declaration. In the lower part inside the base of the monument is an exhibition hall with several dioramas showing the history of Indonesia.

The design of the monument is meant to combine elements of masculine and feminine. The design based on Lingga-Yoni, the symbol of fertility in ancient Hindu-Javanese belief. The phallic shaft comes toward the ground and is engulfed by square base meant to symbolize fertility. The square Cawan is the yoni (feminine) part, while the towering obelisk is the lingga (masculine) part. Indonesia National Museum

The Museum National is located on the side of Merdeka Square or Lapangan Merdeka and was built in 1862 at that time Dutch colonial administration realized about the great treasure of Indonesian cultural heritages and long history of Indonesia. The biggest surprised for the Western historians was the fact that historical record in Indonesia showing tremendous level of similarities with those in India, India and Asia mainland in general. The elements of India is the most interesting aspect at one side and the fact of Indonesian ethnography. All these facts had invited various experts to study Indonesia in more intensive and extensive effort. History Of National Museum
On April 24, 1778, a group of Dutch intellectuals established a scientific institution under the name Bataviaasch Genotschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen, (Batavia Society for Arts and Science). This private body had the aim of promoting research in the field of arts and sciences, especially in history, archaeology, ethnography and physics, and publish the various findings.
One of the founders - JCM Radermacher - donated building and a collection of cultural objects and books, which were of great value to start off a museum and library for the society. Due to the growing collections, General Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles built a new premises on Jalan Majapahit No. 3 at the beginning of the 19th century and named it the Literary Society. In the 1862 the Dutch East Indian government decided to build a new museum that would not only serve as an office but also could be used to house, preserve and display the collections.
The Museum was officially opened in 1868 and became known as Gedung Gajah (Elephant House) or Gedung Arca (House of Statues). It was called Gedung Gajah on account of the bronze elephant statue in the front yard donated by King Chulalongkorn from Thailand in 1871. It was also called Gedung Arca because a great variety of statues from different periods are on display in the house.
On February 29, 1950 the Institution became the Lembaga Kebudayaan Indonesia (Indonesian Culture Council) and on September 17, 1962 it was handed over to the Indonesian government and became the Museum Pusat (Central Museum). By decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 092/0/1979 of May 28, 1979 it was renamed the Museum Nasional. The Museum Nasional is not only a centre for research and study into the national and cultural heritage, but also functions as an educative, cultural and recreational information centre.
Currently the Museum Nasional houses collections of 109,342 objects under the categories of prehistory, archaeology, ethnography, numismatics-heraldic, geography and historical relics.
In 1994, the museum started with is expansion project. The new building, constructed in the same architectural style as the old, comprises an arena for theatrical performances and more spaces for exhibitions. The building is scheduled for completion this year.

COLLECTION
Prehistory
The Prehistoric Age has long time frame, beginning from the presence of man until the emergence of writing differs in every part of the world. From the discovery of ancient human fossils in Indonesia, it is estimated that man lived here around one million years ago. Writing emerged before the 4th century.
Paleontology, the study of Prehistoric periods, explains the lifestyles of prehistoric civilizations through research into their fossilized remains and the artifacts that they made.
The Neolithic era emerged gradually between 2500 BC and 1500 BC when the vast number of people emigrated from the Asian mainland to the Malaysian peninsula, then to the island of Indonesia by sea. The immigrants built dwellings, planted rice on dry land or in irrigated fields and raised cattle. They formed agrarian village communities. This settled lifestyle enabled men to develop their skills in many areas, thus establishing a specific Neolithic culture, examples of which can be seen in this room.
Treasure Room
The Treasure Rooms are divided into two sections - the Archaeology Room and the Ethnography Room. There are about 2,00 items in the Museum's gold and silver collections, the majority of which were found accidentally rather than on organized digs.
Indonesia has been rich in gold and other precious metals for centuries. Artifacts were made using such processes as casting, soldering, riveting an sewing with gold wire, and were decorated by chiseling, the repousse technique (whereby the design is hammered from the inside of an object), and by adding detailed ornamentation.
Due to the biodegradability of the most materials used by the ancient Indonesian kingdoms, relatively little remains for scholars to base their study of these civilizations upon. As a result, since gold does not deteriorate, these objects are treasured not just for their value and decoration but also for their great historical importance. As well as a high level of culture, the gold items reveal a great deal about the life and rituals of the early kingdoms.
In 1990, farmers found a cache of treasure from java's classical Era ( 5th-15th century ) in Wonoboyo, Klaten, Central Java. These exquisite gold and silver items, collectively weighing more than 35 kg, are believed to have been buried in Lava in the early10th century, perhaps due to a major eruption of Mount Merapi. They comprise the largest find in Indonesia this century and are currently displayed in the showcase in the center of the Archaeology treasure room.
The collection in the Ethnography treasure room comprises objects from the 18th to the early 20th centuries. The artifacts are mostly crafted from 14-24 carat gold and many are adorned with precious stones.
Bronze Collection
Bronze is well-represented in the Museum and the collection, which comprises up to 3,199 pieces, is absolutely spectacular.
The Bronze Age in Indonesia is estimated as having begun around the st century BC, and it drastically changed man's way of life both practically and culturally. Bronze is a mixture of copper and tin, and as it has a low melting point, objects were either produced by forging (heating then beating the bronze) or by wax-casting techniques. Bronze axes, ceremonial items and jewelry were the most popular items made.
With the onset of the Classical Age production and casting processes improved, and techniques such as soldering were introduced. Bronze items became more varied, ranging from statues of Buddha for worship to domestic appliances, and their decoration more ornate. Bronze was also used to replace materials that were easily damaged, so the shape of domestic appliances, for example, did not radically change - a water jar would look the same in bronze as it did in terra cotta.
Stone Sculptures
Stone tools and statues have been made by Indonesian civilizations since prehistoric times. The gradual sophistication of these objects and tools used to create them are indicative of cultural progress.The Museum Nasional has a wealth of stone statues in many different forms and sizes, most notably relating to ancestral worship, Hindu gods and goddesses, kings and animals. The statues were usually put in temple alcoves or in the temple's main room (cellar), and the majority of them were discovered in Central Java and Sumatra. Volcanic andesite was most commonly used but many of the East Javanese statues made during the 14th and 15th centuries, were sculpted from sandstone or limestone. As a result of the Hindu-Buddhist influence that was prevalent in Indonesia between the 4th and the 10th centuries, statues created during this period were very similar to those made in East India. Sculptors (silpin). In India had to follow precise rules stated in the Silpasastra book; for example, eyes had to be shaped like lotus (padma) leaves, eyebrows like an archer's bow and arms like an elephants trunk. While these features were copied in Indonesia, the Silpasastra rules were generally not strictly adhered to, and after this period, especially during the Majapahit era (14th and 15th centuries ), statues made throughout the archipelago exuded a more 'Indonesian' style. In the Museum Nasional, Stone Sculpture Collections is included into the Archaeology Section.
Ceramic collection
The ceramics collection differentiates between artifacts originating from countries such as China, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Japan, and objects made in Indonesia or made in Indonesia or made out of terra cotta. This particular collection gives us a good insight into Indonesia's maritime trade over the countries.
Research indicates that the Chinese sailed to India via Indonesia as early as the Western Han period (205 BC to 220 AD) and that firm trade relation were subsequently established.
The islands of Indonesia were the source of many rare commodities and foreign trades were motivated to undertake long and risky sea voyages to get there. Many ships sank before reaching their journey's and, however.
Their non-perishable cargoes, such as ceramics, which would have been used as barter, were washed ashore. Some items were used as common household utensils but fine ceramics were more rare and much sought after. They become cherished heirlooms and were used during the specials ceremonies for birth, circumcision, marriage and death. Occasionally, they were specially commissioned for a private buyer or given as tributes to local dignitaries.
The nucleus of the Museum Nasional's foreign ceramic collection was donated by the Dutch philanthropist and collector, Egbert Willem van Orsoy de Flines, who also became the first ceramics curator of the Museum in 1959.

Jakarta (also DKI Jakarta) is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. It also has a greater population than any other city in Southeast Asia.
